White net or gauze special occasion dress worn by Mary Sellars Brightwell at the age of 17 when she attended Richland High School in Pulaski County, Missouri. The dress is long and is decorated around the bottom with needle work. The waistband is a band of lace with needle work. . The same type of lace needlework is also at the bottom of the short sleeves and around the v-neck. It closes in the back with twenty hooks and eyes.

Photo of James Croghan shaking hands with Monty Harlow, winner of the Zone 3 oratorical contest sponsored by the American Legion. Next to Harlow is John Strecker, the runner up from Neosho High School. Croghan was co-chairman of the contest, and wears a dark uniform with a dark tie. The young men wear suits with ties. An American flag stands behind the group.

A collection of four color photos from Vice President George Bush's visit to Hickory Hills Elementary and Junior High School in November 1985. The scanned photo shows Bush speaking to his wife, Barbara Bush, with students and teachers.

Card is square with a blue geometric pattern border. The front illustration is a boy giving a girl a valentine with cupids/blackbirds underneath. Handwritten inside is "from Pauline Stroud", and the inside verse is "There's so many kinds of Valentines! Some made of lace and glue, There's "comics" and the stand-up kind, And then there's postals, too; But when I choose my valentine, I'm going to choose just you." A black and white cupid illustration is under the verse. On the back is handwritten "To Mary Johnson", and printed "WhitneyMade, Worcester, Mass." with a gold "A" under that. This card was given to Mary Ruth Johnson McShane (1909-2001) of Mt.Vernon, MO in grade school.

Card is square with a blue and gold geometric border. The front illustration is a girl in a red bathing suit and straw hat, with a green pail. The printed words on the front are "To My Valentine". Inside is a black and white line illustration of a boy and girl on the beach playing in the sand. Under the illustration is the printed verse "I cannot put my thoughts in print, I simply give this little hint-I want you for my Valentine". Handwritten on the back is "To Mary from Helen Gibson". Printed in the center of the back is "WhitneyMade, Worcester, Mass., Made in USA" Card given to Mary Ruth Johnson McShane (1909-2001) of Mt.Vernon in grade school.

The card is square with the words "For my valentine" on the upper right corner. It has a blue border with a gold background. The illustration is a dutch boy and girl with a windmill and two hearts with an arrow through it. On the inside is a black and white flower illustration and the printed verse "Dutch kiddies look cute, but very queer, So I prefer those over here, For they are just as sweet - and fine, As any foreign Valentine". On the back is handwritten " To Miss Mary Johnson, From Helen Moore". Printed on the back is Carrington Co, Chicago, ILL with a tree logo with a "A" in the middle. On the bottom is printed 'Made in USA" and 'H5009'. This card was given to Mary Ruth Johnson McShane (1909-2001) of Mt.Vernon, MO in grade school.

Black and white photo of the owners and employees of Hardrick Bros. Grocery Store at 223 St. Louis St. (right to left): uk., J.H. Stemmons, Burton Hardrick, James Hardrick, Bea Hardy Curtis, Ralph Tindall, Marie Stemmons, Julian Herndon, uk., uk., uk The store was Springfield's largest grocery store. Burton Hardrick and J.H. Stemmons both served on Springfield's City Council and the School Board. Words on store window read: "Hardrick Bros. 223." Words on top of truck read: "Hardrick Bros. Grocers." RESTRICTED ACCESS. DO NOT USE WITHOUT PERMISSION.

Also, invitation to a formal dedication ceremony for Springfield Baptist Hospital, dated 1961. Card is heart shaped with a gold border and 4 hearts and two blue bows at the top. A portion of the right border is missing. The cover illustration is a boy and girl dressed in blue in on a bench in front of a fire. Under the illustration is printed "Valentine Greetings". The inside inscription is "Tis you who make my heart beat, dear, So say you love me some, And make my heart go thump, thump, thump, Just like a big bass drum." Under the verse is a black and white cupid illustration. Handwritten on the back is "To Mary Johnson, From (illegible)". Printed on the back is "WhitneyMade, Worcester, Mass., and "AA" at the top. Card was given to Mary Ruth Johnson McShane (1909-2001) of Mt.Vernon Mo in grade school.

Printed verse is "I wonder what you'll do When you find I've sent to you Just a line on a valentine." Printed on the back is "Whitney Made, Worcester, Mass.", and "AA" in gold lettering. Handwritten on the back is "To M-- J, Bob C Worm, from Bob C, Bob C Worm, R, B". There is a hand drawn blue bow on the back. This card was given to Mary Ruth Johnson McShane 1909-2001 of Mt.Vernon, MO in grade school.
